Snyder Photography Senior "What to wear?"

This is a question that comes up a lot.  What should I wear?  And it is a very important question.  For the most part wear what you normally would wear.  Remember your senior portraits are to capture you at a certain point in your life.  If you wouldn't be "caught dead" in a outfit, then why be caught on film in that outfit.  With that being said there are some things to try to stay away from.
Try to stay away from an extreme amount of white or black.  These outfits have a tendency to loose detail, depending on the background.  Earth tones (colors in nature) are the best to work with.  Also try to stay away from large logos.  When you wear a shirt with a large logo, you take the focus of the viewer off of you and onto the logo.  You want to remain the focus of the viewer.
Keep in mind your hobbies.  If you are in a sport, bring your uniform.  The same goes for dance, hunting or any other hobbies.  Also keep your parents and grand parents in mind.  Although you think you should be in causal in all of you photos, your parents and grand parents, may want to see you in at least one formal outfit.  For the average person the percent of outfits being casual to formal is 10-20% formal and 80-90% casual.  However this is entirely up to you.
Another thing to remember is props!  These can be sports balls, pompoms, collective items, musical instruments, ANYTHING!  If your unsure if it would make a good prop or not, please contact us anytime and we will give you our opinion.
